Welcome, Tyler Miller!

Last week, we officially announced goalkeeper Tyler Miller’s signing with the Grain Belt Elite team. Big news, we know!

Wait, The Grain Belt Elite Team?

The Grain Belt Elite team is our own group of people who are all Elite in their own way. Whether they are professional athletes, amazing fishermen, or ballin’ wiffle ball players, everybody on the team has their own skill set that makes them Elite. Think you or someone you know has what it takes to be on the squad? Shoot us a message and tell us why – you could snag some free beer!

But hey, back to the man of the hour!

Tyler was born and raised in Woodbury, New Jersey and attended Northwestern University in Chicago. He was a 4-year starter and was even named the unanimous Big-10 goalkeeper of the year in 2014, his senior season. After that he headed off to Seattle, joining the Seattle Sounders, followed by Los Angeles FC. After an extraordinarily successful couple of years in LA, he was traded to Minnesota United FC in 2020.

Although a nagging hip injury shut down his first season with the Loons after 5 games, he’s planning on a truly Elite return to the field. “(I) look forward to getting back on the field in 2021 stronger and with a fuller mustache,” he said back in August, right before his season-ending hip surgery. Now fully healed, Tyler is ready to get on the pitch and show everybody what he can do.

Minnesota United starts their season off TODAY against the Seattle Sounders. Make sure to tune in and cheer Tyler on!
