Two days after the celebration of Awards Night January 13, brewery officials and the outside vote-tallying computer firm sensed justified confusion about the start-and-finish DATES of the internet VOTING 'window,' which was supposed to have run from Christmas Day through New Year's Day. The dates were not not properly advertised, resulting in some (honest) voting AFTER the supposed cut-off, with an impact on final results. The 'window' for 'People's Choice' voting will be much more clearly advertised in the next contest, which starts early this coming summer. (In addition, Schell's is reinstating the film-TV-arts Judges Panel employed in earlier years of the contest, to score the QUALITY of the spot and be factored with the popular vote to determine winners). In the meantime, the brewery is paying additional prize money to a commercial that fared better after the popular vote was re-measured, but not penalizing any that won earlier.
The final order of finish is:
First place - Spot #14 "Built By Grain Belt"
Second place - Spot #15 "Never Waste A Drop"
Third place - Spot #19 "Real Man, Real Good, real Beer"
